My January 2026 Detox

This January felt like my body really needed a detox so I challenged myself to do the plant-based Whole30 - I'm already vegan but I cut out grains, sugar, alcohol and caffeine for the whole month.

And honestly it was the best decision...I lost 4kg (around 9 pounds) and I feel so so much lighter and healthier.

These pictures are some of the things I ate this month, and I wrote a blog post about my experiences with this challenge and how I want to move forwards into February.

A week late but here's a few from last week in Austria ❄️⛷️🏔️💙

Some little things I added to my weekly working from home day to make it feel more special...

- lemongrass candle
- journalling before work
- decaf mushroom coffee and herbal teas
- calming autumn playlist
- hazelnut chocolate
- two dog walks without my phone.

This evening's walk included a bright, beautiful moon and almost being hit in the face by a bat 🦇

I've been enjoying finding little things to add into my days over the past week, the "little wildnesses" as I've been calling them. There will be more on the way I'm sure 😊

I'm so grateful to all the staff and fellow volunteers who made this trip so special (and of course special mention to Miss Kitty!)

I'm so sad to have had to leave and I miss everyone already... This one will stick with me for life.
I'll be back in the future if I can!

Today has been the craziest and most amazing day. We stopped for lunch on the way down from this stunning peak, and spotted a mother bear with two cubs down below! Truly incredible to see in the wild.
And then on the way back, we narrowly escaped death when a tree fell right above us in the forest, and we had to make a run for it.

Going back to the bear hide tonight for hopefully another bear sighting :) #bear #bearcubs #rodopimountains #bulgaria #hiking #exodus #travel #mountains
