In today's fast paced world it's easy to be swept away in the onslaught of information and mental stimulation. It's easy to get lost in social media scrolling, reading online articles, binge-watching TV with all it's adverts and auto-play features, and endless swiping on dating apps.
It's all designed to be addictive after all.
It's something I often struggle with too. With my seven undefined body centres I'm especially sensitive to being sucked into all of these things, and when I do I always end up feeling both drained and overstimulated at the same time.
When we don't take the time to slow down and disconnect from screens and the fast pace of the world it makes it far more difficult to hear our intuition and what our body needs. We are more likely to disregard our strategy and override our authority, resulting in making decisions which are not right for us.
All Human Design types (even Manifestors) are designed to wait.
Generators and Manifesting Generators are designed to wait for their sacral response to things, people and opportunities around them, even if this only lasts a few moments.
Projectors are designed to wait for invitations, and to understand what they see in others and which systems they are being called towards.
Manifestors are designed to wait for their inner creative and initiating urges, and to inform others of their intentions and needs.
Reflectors are designed to wait for the completion of a full lunar cycle to be able to make the clearest and most informed decisions.
Slowing down and waiting for these things helps to move into closer alignment with how our energy works.
For me as a Projector, I find that the more time I spend using screens and social media, the more likely I am to try to force things that aren't right for me, to compare myself to others and to initiate where I haven't been invited.
And this inevitably leads to bitterness when it doesn't work out.
But when I consciously take the time to slow down, disconnect and recalibrate, the more I can hear my self-projected authority talking to me, the calmer and clearer I feel, and the more invitations I find coming my way.
Some of my favourite ways to disconnect include:
Taking a walk in nature with my dogs
Listening to inspiring and relaxing music with my eyes closed
Dance and free movement - choosing a song and moving however my body wants to
Journalling
People-watching or reading in a coffee shop
Sitting in the garden watching the birds and the wildlife
What are your favourite ways to slow down and disconnect?
Do you find that your intuition and authority are easier to hear when you do this?
I'd love to hear from you :)
